Michael Yium, MD
Dr. Michael Yium came to Texas from Colorado in 1988 to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he graduated with high honors with a degree in electrical engineering. Dr. Yium earned his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine, where he was elected into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society in 1997.
Following medical school, Dr. Yium performed two years of general surgery training at Parkland Memorial Hospital. He then completed his Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery training at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas before moving to Austin to start private practice.
Dr. Yium is board certified in otolaryngology and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery and Travis County Medical Society.
Dr. Yium’s practice includes the evaluation and treatment of many head and neck disorders including sinusitis, nasal obstruction, allergy, snoring and sleep apnea, thyroid nodules, chronic ear disease, dizziness, voice disorders, and head and neck cancer.
Dr. Yium enjoys treating both pediatric and adult patients and he is affiliated with several hospitals including South Austin Hospital, Seton, St. David’s, and Dell Seton University of Texas.
Outside the office, Dr. Yium enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. Together they are active in many outdoor activities such as biking, running, hiking, skiing, and travel.
